Go to Control Panel - User Accounts - If your the Administrator see what is listed.
Change your picture and create a password if you want.
You should also create a password reset disk.
I use a Sandisk that cost me about $20.00
No matter what the password is changed to this will allow you access
to your computer. If the computer is restored back to factory settings the reset
disk won't work. It must be redone.

If the above can't be done you can try Error checking.
1. Error Checking- CD not needed
Start - my computer - right click local disk (C) - properties - Tools Tab -
Error checking section - Check now - check mark both boxes - Start -
This requires a restart to begin.
Are you using an Anti Virus?
If your problems are recent try System Restore to an earlier date.
Start - In the Search spot type - system restore - It will show in your list.
Click it.
