June 13, 2012 at 02:25:09
Specs: Windows 7, C2D 2.26/2.27 GHz 4g ram
laptop shut off on first boot of the day (when it is cold)
able to prevent that by pressing F8 and wait for Min then start window normally. (warming up?)
problem persist after formatting.
thank you.

How old is the laptop? This is most likely a hardware issue, not a Win 7 issue. The only thing that I could imagine that would cause this in Win 7 is a faulty driver.

thank you for the quick reply.
i myself also think that is not win7 issue as formatting the laptop doesnt help.
i tried to play around with the ram also.
no luck.
:(

ps: it always shut off at "starting window"

Couldn't overheat that quickly, should be a safety thing, try running start up repair, see if it shuts off with it.
Does it shut down completely or are the LED indicators still flashing.

It shut of completely just like out of power.
The led at the power supply is still glowing though.

If its after formatting then its something to do with windows booting, try Safe mode via pressing F8.
