You will have to format the existing Windows 7 partition, then install the other Windows version on that empty partition.

But first make sure that the version of Windows you want to install is supported on your laptop model. Go to your laptop manufacturer's website and see what drivers they have for your model.

Please clarify, are you wanting to install "another copy" of Windows or just re-install your existing Windows?

If you are just wanting to re-install Windows then you don't need or want an extra copy of Windows - just use the DVD (put the CD/DVD drive ahead of C drive in BIOS). It will fit in the same space.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

If you really want to do a full clean install and have an install or upgrade DVD for Windows 7, you need to use the Custom Install option to get the drive options including partitioning and formatting.

If your drive is really too small, consider replacing the hard drive with a larger one and reinstalling on the new drive or cloning the drive to the new one and expanding it to fill the larger drive. Basic 1TB drives are about the price of what the 320GB and 500GB drives were when your machine was probably sold new.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
