windows 7 irq not less or equal page fault

Microsoft Windows 7 home premium
December 3, 2010 at 22:27:23
Specs: Windows 7, 4G
After finally purchasing new comp, constantly recieved BSOD on startup only on cold boot.
irq not less or equal page fault in nonpaged area pfn list corrupt.
Research hinted at bad ram, used several registry programs etc.
All I had done was connect old IDE drive 2 transfer files which was a fail.
Suspected IDE disabled in bios...fail.
Removed IDE controller in device manager. 2 cold boots so far without errors.
Is there anything else I can try along these lines? suspect sata/IDE dont get along even though MoBo has an ide slot.
Hope this helps anyone with the same prob.

"Suspected IDE disabled in bios...fail.

Did you enter the BIOS screens to see if the IDE controller was enabled?

When you connect a new drive the BIOS will default to THAT drive as the first boot device.

You need to look for an option in the BIOS screens to select WHICH hard drive to boot to first. That option is NOT located on the same screen as the boot order, which only picks Hard Drive, not which one. So I think what was happening is that the computer was trying to boot from the old hard drive. That wouldn't work because the hardware is all different.
