Specs: Windows 7, 2.5/6
Hi,

I have windows 7 Home Edition on my HP DV6 Laptop.Recently i created a system image with a windows image utility for my System Partion c:\.Yesterday Windows got virus attack so i needed to reinstall that windows.Because i already had created image Disks for system Partion so i boot my Windows with image Disk1 Process started it asked me that All of my partions will be restored to initial state, unlucky i didnt notice this statement and i run the image disk which restored all of my other partions including C:\ D:\.

I deally it should only restore my C:\ Drive, but i didnt find any option like this..

You can delete the partitons if you don't want them using the hard drive managment thing in windows (search hard drive partitons or something like that in the start menu).

I am a hardware guy not a software guy but i try to help.

"Process started it asked me that All of my partions will be restored to initial state, " This sounds like you actually did a Factory Restore which would return the system to its original factory shipped state. If your personal settings, personal files, and added programs are not there, then that is what you actually did. It is not reversible, but using a program like Recuva, you might be able to recover much of your personal files (though not programs or settings). As far as I know, in order to restore from a system image when the OS does not work, you need a recovery disk set or better, a System Repair Disk that you should have made when you made the system image.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

As mentioned, depending on how you launched the restore, you probably performed a factory restore. If you used the Repair Disk (make one now) you would get an option to load or restore a disk image and that would be selective.
