You are not very clear about what will not open ? Internet Explorer 8 will not start or Internet Explorer 8 will not connect to internet ?

If it does not start, then it has nothing to do with connecting wirelessly.

One thing you may do is, open a command prompt with admin rights and run the command SFC /SCANNOW and follow the instructions.

Another thing you may try is, please go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features\Windows Programs.

Uncheck Internet Explorer and restart your PC. Then go to the same place and then check it back. Restart your PC.

If still no response, then you may install another internet browser.

Hope the above helps.

Yes it wont start. Nothing is wrong with the connection, internet explorer does not even come up onto the screen despite clicking it several times. It shows that its loading but then nothing happens.

If the computer is not brand new and you previously have been able to use IE8, then do a disk clean up and clean out internet files (cookies, history, saved internet files, etc.), then update your virus scanning software and do a complete scan.
After that, or if your computer is new, follow the above to turn off, restart, and turn back on IE8 again.
Also you can try to go to windows update and see if that can pick up something you are missing/corrupted.
If nothing so far works, try Mozilla Firefox (free download) instead, you still can continue to look for a solution, but at least you have the internet back, and you might just like it better (many do).
