Try a disk clean up, you may not be up on cleaning out your Browsing History, Cookies, Viewed Web Pages, etc. and this may be keeping it from opening.
Check Task Manager, you may have one or more "iexplore.exe" open in the system but not visible to you (not properly closed). End all of these Processes one at a time until clean and try again.
Try running Malwarebytes (free version, download) to see if you have an infection that got past your Antivirus program.
If you have not shut down or restarted your system in a while, try a restart as this may recover available resources.
**Work your way down the list and report back the results for more options or to let us know if you solved it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
This site is about helping people, lets keep it that way.

have you tried tapping f8 and going into safe mode with networking? See if IE works there. Sometimes there are bad addons installed.

Once in safemode open IE, click on tools/internet options/advanced and then click on reset internet explorer. make sure you have eveything unchecked so that IE rebuilds itself.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
