I wonder if anyone can help me please. I have been having problems with my laptop namely too slow, sluggish not responding, I have reinstalled windows 7 on my acer aspire 5720 laptop as i thought it might cure the problem but alas it has not and both my firefox and internet explorer 8 are still sluggish and slow to load, even when entering letters in the search bar they dont appear at the same time as i am typing there is a delay. Also I am a member of a forum and on the chat box I can chat to fellow members but when I go to another page on another browser then return to chat, the conversation has dissappeared and I have to place my cursor over the persons name in chat box to get the conversation back again.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Kind Regards
Sophie

The problem you described "... as I am typing, there is delay ..." has nothing to do with IE 8, I think.

I had a similar problem in which I had difficulty making my keyboard blinking cursor follow my mouse clicks. I had delays and sometimes I could not type at all. I had to click many times until the blinking cursor came to the location where I wanted it to be. I replaced my mouse a couple of days ago. Now the problem seems to be resolved. My keyboard also functions very well now.

Since yours is a laptop, you can borrow an USB mouse and try.

Hello

Can I just ask why my HJT log was removed, I dont understand, as i followed the instructions for sending my question to the forum, or did i do soemthing wrong I am not very good on the tech issues here.

The main problem I have is with IE8 and firefox that keep freezing on me and slow loading, I dont think its a mouse problem as I also get the same thing using the laptop mouse pad.

Kind Regards
Sophie

The moderator removed HJT log file as it might contain personal data.

Since you say you reinstalled Win7, do you still think you might have malware in your system that causes slow or problematic IE8 behavior ? Only defective hardware can cause such behavior after reinstall. Think about it.

The HJT logs was removed because a qualified member did not ask you to post it.
It is against forum rules to post a log unless requested, it has nothing to do with your personal information like response 3 stated.

Sophie, you are most likely plagued with excessive spyware and trojans.

You can start by trying Malwarebytes and remove all it finds:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_m...

You didn't state if your PC is 32 or 64bit.
If it is 32 bit you can also run combofix:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/com...
Just follow the website instructions and you should be fine. Don't run any programs while it is working. You will have to disable your anti virus before using it.
Good Luck

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

did you do a fresh install of windows 7 or an upgrade from a dvd or did you use the factory restore for your machine? then replace all your files?
is the problem only when you use firefox/ie8 ? or do other programs have the same issue, does the machine run perfectly well when not using explorers?

if its just ie8 and firefox then its software, if it is all programs then the chances are it maybe hardware related

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
