hi. i have this printer connected to my linksys router and i am able to print from my fedora machine after doing yum install hplip.

i am trying to set this up on my wifes win-7 laptop. i go to start -> devices and printers -> add a device.
and after a few moments it finds the printer on my network (hpf732bo-hp officejet 4500 g510g-m).

i click next and i get a page saying that the device has been successfully installed but after a few minutes a pop-up comes up saying that the install failed:
wsd print device (green check mark) ready to use
wsd print device (red x) no driver found
when i try to print using notepad the new printer isnt available as an option.

when i go to the hp site to manually install the driver, it installs all the hp bloatware but at the end it tells me to connect the usb cable to finish the install. what is the way to connect this as a network (wifi) printer in windows ?

I own a HP Officejet 6500 wifi printer connected as network printer by a router to a desktop and a laptop under Win XP and Vista. I suggest you access the HP web site, download the 4500 full installation software for Win 7 operating system and then execute it following the related instructions. Don't rely on the Win wizard but on the product one.
