windows 7 dropping wifi connection

September 27, 2011 at 22:30:34
Specs: Windows 7, Intel Core 2 Due / 2GB
I have a new HP laptop. Every time I come back from the screen saver (password required) it drops he WiFi and I have to run the trouble shooter. I have turned off the power saving features under the device manager but that doesn't seem to have fixed it. It is really frustrating to have to run a trouble shooter just to have the WiFi reconnect. Ideas?
JB

I have turned off the power saving features for the wi-fi card and the problem still exists. This happens when the laptop goes to stand-by mode. My other laptop at the same location (2 ft away) does not drop the connection only the new Win 7 one, so I don't think it is a interference issue. I have the newest drivers installed. The only way I have found to "fix" the problem is to set the laptop to not go to stand-by mode when inactive. Any other thoughts??
Thanks,
JB
