All I could find for you was Lexmark
Online Support at this website.

I would want to know if the printer was compatibile with windows 7 or if drivers are needed.

Thanks. I have managed to download the software, it appears on the printer section. However, I cannot find an icon on the task bar or anywhere else to point to the print function. Therefore, I cannot carry on printing. I just need to find the icon. Any ideas?

can you not see your printer in devices and printers?, open devices and printer, click start and see on the right hand panel devices and printers, if your printer is there set it to default, if not click add a printer..

Thanks. I have managed to download the software and the icon appears in the section of the other printers. However, that section is only for information purposes. I cannot get an icon in the task bar where it would normally appear so that, when you want to print, all you do is click on that icon. Any ideas?

Do you mean the icon in the System Tray, bottom right?
because that icon is normally a separate program, usually for
monitoring of the printer, its main purpose isn't to handle the
printing, that's initiated when you choose 'print' from whichever
program you are using - Word, Paint etc. If you want an icon in
the Taskbar (the bit along the bottom), then you just drag & drop,
or 'pin' in Win7, the printer icon to it yourself.

Thanks. You mention second to last line "then you just drag & drop or 'pin' in Win 7, theprinter icon to it yourself".
Where do I find the icon so that I can drag and drop it unto the task bar at the bottom?
