windows 7 does not recognize my flash drive

November 21, 2011 at 10:03:42
Specs: Windows 7, 4gb
windows 7 does not recognize my flash drive, it thinks it is a cd and looks for audio files on it.
I have tried all 6 usb ports and get the same thing.
When I use them on a computer with windows xp, I have no problems.

By the way, if the windows does not make the "ding-dong" noise
when the flash drive is inserted...

I assume the USB FLASH drive are FAT or FAT16 !!!
Anyway do the print screen as the above guy suggested :) and we take it from there.

Bucki,
I did try an old flash drive I had, it was one of the first ones I ever had.
Only 15.2 mb capacity.
But it did work.
Maybe since I used the other flash drives on my computer with windows xp
they got curropted.
I will buy a new one today and try it.
I will let you know how I make out,
Thank you
Herb

I am sorry for the late reply, but I am having problems printing this page.
I tried Cytl + P nothing happens print screen does nothing.
There is no way to copy it or print it that I know of.
My computer skills are not much above average.

Any suggestions on how to print or copy this page will be appreciated.

Thank you
Herb

You should be able to print this page by your method or using File > Print in Internet Explorer.

As an alternative do File > Save As and save the webpage to your computer.

If "File" is not showing hold the Alt key. If you want "File - Edit - View etc" permanently available right click a blank part under the address bar at the top and tick "Menu Bar". Note there is some variation between browsers but most work in a similar fashion.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
