Specs: Windows 7 Starter 32bit, Intel (R) Core(TM)2 DuoT5750 @ 2.00GH processor with 2GB Ram
It has been almost a month that I have this thin line of the gadgets bar on the left hand side of windows! I elaborate that as I am using windows 7 Ultimate I am using a few gadgets like Time Calendar Weather and Currency to show me the latest overview as I am constantly online. Normally as I presume that there is a hidden Column where these gadgets reside and stand on each other. I don’t know what happed that this thin line have started to appear which never happened before I thought It might be a pixel error in my laptops monitor, but I don’t think so as the comp shuts or boots it’s not there but when the windows boots I can see it it’s there all the time now. Is it a graphics card problem..Please anyone experiencing this? I mean nothing is wrong with the comp, I have tried to format and install windows again but this thin line is still there.

Kind Regards

I don't have your problem, try draging the gadget to a new
location to see what the line does.

So, if you drag the gadgets away from that location is the line still there?

Create an all white screensaver and let it run overnight. I use Marquee, set background color to white, and delete all text.

This "burn in" (it's not really burn in) or "image persistence" effect happens on some lcd screens. The white screen gets all guns firing and you'll end up with a clean screen.

As per your suggestion I first created a white empty jpeg, the I removed all the icons from the desktop, after that selected the plain white theme from windows 7 I disabled the standby and turn off setting in power . All the background was white and no text or anything I selected the screen saver slide show with only one white plain image and left the laptop open all night. After the selection of white the line is not visible, but I hoped that as you mentioned that there will be a burnout but unfortunately it did no work the line is still there.

Try it for more than one night.

When you removed the icons from the desktop, could you see a faint image where they had been sitting?

If the sidebar left a line, the icons should too.

You see I have tried this remedy, but it did not help at all, and as of today I experienced that I booted up my laptop, and of course the side line still appears, but as soon I started up IE suddenly the laptop screen went black. I was quite upset and sacred that something might went wrong in windows or my hard disk just died and all my personal data is gone too, but somehow I pulled myself up and tried putting a external monitor to my laptop and I am filled with joy everything is ok nothing is wrong with graphics nor side line appearance in here , so I have calculated that this is something wrong with my laptop monitor as I can see the black blank screen but the side line still is there, So that means it’s not a software error or windows or driver error but the laptop monitor is defected ?
