Microsoft Windows 7 home premium

Specs: Windows 7, hp Istart 2369 3.06 ghz 2gb
I have been in touch with Microsoft regarding problems with loading sp1, they asked me to try and upgrade Windows 7 using the system dvd but I get a compatibilty error - Setup was unable to determine if BitLocker Drive Encryption is in use.
I have Diskeeper 2011 Home , could this be a problem ?, or could anybody please suggest what could be the cause.. Thanks.

The best policy when installing ANY software is to have nothing running. Especially AV or security stuff.

Try going to Start> Type Bitlocker in the search box. Click on Manager Bitlocker> You should get a screen showing if Bitlocker is enabled on any of your partitions.

Then it seems odd that you would get that message.

If you have the install disk for Diskeeper, try uninstalling, 'repairing' windows, and then try SP1 again.
I have installed SP1 successfully on two systems but had a problem on an earlier install of Windows 7 so i decided to wait on that one until they worked out the 'kinks' and try again in a few months, maybe you will end up doing the same.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I don't understand it either, its a genuine install of Windows 7 , I bought it myself from an authorised seller, I guess I'll have to see what Microsoft have to say - Thanks.

Thanks Fingers - I tried uninstalling Diskeeper, rebooting & trying to repair Windows but I slill get the same message -

The following issues are preventing Windows from upgrading. Cancel the upgrade, complete each task, and then restart the upgrade to continue.

Setup was unable to determine if BitLocker Drive Encryption is in use.
