Specs: Windows 7 Home, Intel Core i7 2670QM
My laptop restarts upon windows 7 logo screen. When attempting the repair option, it displays a 'windows is loading files' bar but won't progress past it. The same thing happens when trying to boot from a windows 7 install disc except it hangs on the logo screen instead but won't display the logo. It also fails to boot in safe mode and last known good configuration. Any suggestions?

"It also fails to boot in safe mode and last known good configuration"

Almost certainly that means faulty hardware, such as the hard drive or a RAM module.

Test the hard drive with Hitachi Drive Fitness Test which will test any drive brand & runs from a bootable CD: http://www.hgst.com/support/index-f...

Test the RAM modules with Memtest86+ which also runs from a bootable CD: http://www.memtest.org/
