Solved Windows 7 64bit home premium freezes

June 21, 2011 at 07:46:23
Specs: Windows 7, AMD Athlon II x2 processor p320
win 7 64 bit home premium freezes and displays "not responding" in Title-bar - it takes up to 2 minutes for the system to recover.

i have done a clean boot diagnostic, chkdsk, antivirus scan, etc.

The system keeps freezing up and the only related information i can find are the following entries from the System Event Log. This is continually repeating,. Anyone have a clue?

Log Name: System
Source: Service Control Manager
Date: 6/15/2011 3:37:17 AM
Event ID: 7036
Task Category: None
Level: Information
Keywords: Classic

Run Memtest to check your memory for errors that can cause your problem.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
