boot into safe mode and remove the last updates, or do a system restore to a date before the update..

I have already tried going into save mode and doing a system restore to a date before the update, this works until the next update comes along.

You should install THIS ( Microsoft System Update Readiness Tool ) in order to be able to avoid future updates possibly ruining your system. Use the correct file for your OS.

you can set the update to download, and not install until you are ready to do so, or block the update that causes the issue so it does not install altogether (hide this update), start/programs/updates/change settings
do you know which update it is?
if you know which update, you may be able to find out what is the particular file that is causing the issue, it may be that your manufacturer has another update to use instead..
