Solved win7 virtual xp com port usage

Specs: Windows 7, i5 8GB
In win7 pro my com port exists and works. I go to 'Window Virtual PC XP mode'. In vritual mode I have a 16 bit app that touches the 8250/16450 hardware. this software does not actually use open "com1:". This program comes up and thinks it is opening a serial port at 3f8h by doing in and outs. It tries and thinks it is toggling DTR, but is not externally. When I get into debug, I notice the table a 0:400 is full of devices I don't have, so I figure the com port I am opening is actually a virtual com port that isn't connected to any actual hardware.

Is there anyway to connect to the actual hardware serial port in Virtual XP?
