Win7 product key has worn off my Acer netbook

I bought A laptap A few months ago, I can't read my product key. It is worn off.

anything pertaining to new laptops as far as serial numbers or product keys go are suspicious, as thefts are rampant.
1- Contact the reseller and ask what it is.
2- download and run SIW

The above programs only work if Windows is installed and operational. If that isn't the case then you need to contact Acer for help. Be prepared to prove ownership.

you do not need the product key on a laptop, and you never have to put the key into the setup.
if you are trying to clean the machine just run a factory restore from the hidden partition, you can find out how to do that from the manual or the website.
if it has mobo or drive passwords then you have to contact the person who sold it too you.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

This post has re-awoken from February so it may not matter anymore, but if the system is running fine but you want to write down the key for future need, just right click on 'Computer' and choose Properties and the product key shows just before the words "Change Product Key".

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
