My mother-in-law has just bought a new Acer lap-top running Windows 7 and has installed Skype. Unfortunately, when she makes a Skype call there is, apparently, a mic issue and she cannot be heard (ideal, I hear you say - what's the problem!!). In Control Panel - Sounds - Recording - the mic symbol is greyed out and the messge 'Microphone not plugged in' is showing. Any ideas how to 'plug the mic in'??
Put plug in hole, which hole might be the problem, usually the pink one, try the rear one on the card or mb if built in, some have a problem when using the front outputs.
