Specs: Windows 7
When you go to System properties, the CPU is classified as Unknown AMD 803 Mhz. My cpu is Phenom II X2 2.8 Ghz. What setup do i need to do or check to properly recognize it?

How are we supposed to help without any information on your motherboard and the history of this set up?

If I had to guess, I would say that the BIOS on your motherboard needs to be updated by flashing it. But, can't say without a motherboard brand, model and version. Version is printed on the PCB somewhere.

I was assuming that when i said Windows 7 did not recognize it you would know by then that i successfully booted the PC, loaded the OS aka win7 and got everything running. Except that Win7 could not identify my CPU's details. I have no problem with the motherboard Gigabyte 890GX (890GPA-UD3H) coz it did recognize the cpu in its BIOS or else i wont be able to use this PC to email you write now. Thanks for the help. I will try to ask someone else in the web for more knowledgeable Techs out there.

Attitude won't get you very far anywhere.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.

Let's send him a bill anyways.

Oh, that's right, we don't charge for the answers.

Oh well.
