Solved Win 7 Won't remember my folder view settings

July 2, 2011 at 13:39:14
Specs: Windows 7
I can't figure out how to save a specific view for all folders and files withing a folder. ie, I want to use list view for my TV shows (and all subfolders), detailed view for music, etc. I'm getting sick of having to change it every time I go to that folder!

It won't help much but I have found that the View in sub-folders is always reflected immediately in its main folder (and vice versa).

I've also found (probably well known) that the Window "size" of any folder with icon view has to be sufficient to accommodate the sub-folder with the maximum number of files.

I can't help but would be very interested in the responses you get. This has always been a problem with MS Windows and seems to have gotten far worse with Vista onwards.

I'll second that... I use a specific view for a folder subject and it wrecks all the views I have created previously.

I've done it in the past (not Win7 though) but I don't remember the source where I learned to in the first place.
