Did the computer ever boot up? Is this a new installation?

Have you configured the BIOS settings?

Make sure the memory is correctly seated.

You didn't provide nearly enough info about your system or how you're attempting to install Win7. And I'm very curious why you're still running XP SP2 when SP3 was released over 11 years ago?

For starters, you have an outdated board which means you also have an outdated CPU.

I'm going to guess you have an Athlon XP. It's 32-bit CPU so Win7 64-bit is out of the question. Also, none of the old AMD socket A CPUs (Athlon, Duron, AthlonXP, Sempron) support SSE2 so once you get Win7 installed, it's doubtful you'll get a modern browser to work. If you run an older browser that doesn't require SSE2, many webpages won't load, not to mention old browsers are a major security risk.

Now that that's out of the way, make sure your BIOS is configured properly. Check the date/time, all the settings, & adjust the boot order so that the DVD drive is listed 1st. Boot off the Win7 DVD & watch the screen for the prompt to "press any key...". After that, all you need to do is follow the onscreen instructions. I recommend deleting ALL current partitions, then creating one or more new partitions. This guide will help.
