Win 7 Start Menu shortcuts icon problems

Microsoft Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate x64, 3.368 GHz / 4095 MB
Seems that slowly my icons on the shortcuts in the start menu are dissapearing. Started with Quicktime and now Word, Sharepoint & Publisher. The rest of office is fine, all shortcuts still work without icons. Right click properties and the change icon is blocked out. Any idea what may be going on or how to fix this?

Try updating your antivirus/antiSpyware program and run, you might have an infection of some type. Or run one or two of the better free ones available (I hear a lot about MalwareBytes and SuperSpyware here).

Currently up to date running EST NOD32 v4. I also run Registry Mechanic v9.0.0.114 & Spy Hunter v3.12.31.

Maybe its a registry error? Registry Mechanic may be doing something wrong?
