Win 7 SP1 installation raised CPU temperature

Specs: Windows 7, i7 940 4Gb Corsair
ASUS P6T, i7 940 4Gb RAM. Since installing SP1 with win 7 64 Pro CPU gets too hot running same backup as before SP1. It ran cool before SP1.

Obviously there is an incompatibility between SP1 and your computer. SP1 is not a must have, if you have installed all the other security patches. So uninstall SP1 and check, whether it works normally.

I would guess that the settings that vary fan speeds have changed.

You may need to wait for a newer motherboard driver before trying SP1 again.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
