Win 7 Resolution Help!!

June 29, 2010 at 18:55:19
Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate, i7-930/4GB

Hello, I'm experiencing a problem with my resolution on Win 7. I have been using 1280x800 resolution until today, because I have to change the color to 16bit in order to play this game. But after I've done that, now when I want to use any resolution below 1280x960 (16 or 32 bit color), my desktop is displayed kinda in a widescreen, with top and bottom black. I was wondering anyone know how to revert it back to the way it was, display the whole desktop in full screen?
Monitor: Asus VH236H
GPU: Radeon 4850 1gb
Thanks in advance.

Right click the software your having a problem with -
Click Troubleshoot Compatibilty.
Did you restart your computer to see if and option comes up?
I thought I saw that on mine when I had your problem.
You can try system restore to an earlier date.
Click Start - In the Search Area type System Restore and the
link should show up.

hi,

you should try system restore as cboy suggested.

or you can try some driver updating applications to update
your display and other drivers to latest updates.

like Driver Agent or Advanced Driver Optimizer dey will get
you the latest updates 4 ur drivers so u dnt hve to search
them.
I prefer Advanced driver Optimizer as with it I hve to just
scan n update all my drivers in single click.

The best part is if it installed incorrect driver then I can roll
back using their restore facility.
