See bios settings. Might be a power option to restart on power off or something like that.

Might be a problem between MS and the computer's power management also.

Checked in the bios after power loss selection is "off "

Could be stuck power button or power supply issue or mb lan issue on power button conductors.

could be your bios is set to boot on key/mouse/network soany network ping or data package will reboot, mouse movement or key stroke..

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Hi,

Did you install Ubuntu or something like that ? I installed Ubunutu and after that same thing has started happening on my laptop. Upon Re-starting or Shutdown (Blue screen of Kernal Dump or something comes) and laptop re-starts.

Same problem overhere on my desktop.
PC reboots after (software) shutdown in W7, previous I had Ubuntu 10.04 installed.
Checked all settings in BIOS but they seem to be alright.
Shutdown via hardware button works but not preferable (PC is situated in another room).
