Win 7 Product Keys bought on Ebay

October 25, 2010 at 22:53:18
Specs: Windows 7
We have bought approx 10 Windpws 7 Product Keys on Ebay. Initially they all activated but after several months of trouble free operation they are being blocked by Microsoft one by one. Paypal and Ebay were contacted and the answer was noit covered as Product Keys are not tangible items. Of course the original ebayers have disappeared after the 45 days ebay allows for problems. Once installed you can look at the system properties scroll down to product id and if you see 055, 056 or 057 you have a problem. They are MSDN keys used for development and not for resale its a scam The 055 - 057 is not visible on the se no's are not on the product key you buy from ebay and other sources but only visible after installation. Dont waste your money. Ebay are aware of the issue and continue to accept these listings knowingly and hide behind the 45 day rule. The product keys last well after the 45 days but are then blocked my Microsoft

I'm a firm believer in if you have paid for a product and it gets activated it should be honored. I believe there are ways to make sure that windows stays activated, it is just a matter of finding that solution ;-)

I have never bought activation keys from e-bay, their prices are much too high.

looks like you will just have to take advantage of the family packs, 150 bucks for 3 licenses...or use the naughty and illegal methods available on torrent sites etc, but torrents are nortoriously dangerous when it comes to windows keys..risk versus reward i suppose..

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

I don't use any torrents and illegal sites, those are the wrong places to find things.

If you buy something from some one that isn't the legal owner of what they are selling then the legal owner takes steps to protect their interests you can't really complain can you,

be sensible, if MS charge 50 bucks per key, (family pack) and 150 bucks a key for the usual installation key, what the hell do you think you are buying for 10 bucks???
and how long do you think it will be before the license is revoked....

if your gonna cheat MS then at least dont complain..or do it properly.
ive seen a few regular users on this forum say buy keys from ebay etc etc, but you get what you pay for....
