Specs: Windows 7, A8/2 GB
Hi

I have a user who has emailed me a PDF document from her ipad. When I open in my windows 7 PC I get an error which says:

There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.

On the attachment I can see two files attached.

One says :Finance.pdf(735KB)
second one says: ATT00001.htm(406KB)

Please suggest is there a way of opening this PDF document in a windows 7 PC.I remember there was a software which used to open and I lost track of it.

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

try saving the attachment first then trying to view it (from the saved location)

The htm file is just information. Have you tried saving the pdf file (only) into Windows rather than email, then double clicking the file?

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

To open a PDF file you need to download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader (just make sure that you uncheck any additional junk on the download and on the installer which it is trying to install and you will get if you do not read before OK'ing it). Link:
https://get.adobe.com/reader/

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Echoing Fingers above - use custom or manual install option for "anything" downloade from web. Custom/manual allows "you" to see and select what's being installed, rather than letting a whole load of unwanted stuff go in - with inevitably problems afterwards as a result. Just uncheck everything offered apart from the item you want.

Can they resend it or maybe send it from another source? Have you had problems opening other downloaded pdf files?
