Solved Win 7 on old laptop

Specs: Windows 7
I have an old 700mhz sony vaio laptop, can i install win 7 to it? Now it runs on xp.

It may be a little to far in the past to really run Win-7 - as it appears to have been around since 200 (or is yours a much more recent model)?

So… it will depend on that actual model you have?

Perhaps post the model details here and folks can likely help advise more fully?

Also a look around the support area for your specific Vaio model may bring out more info as regards its viability for win-7; the main issue is of course drivers… - and also cpu, and will your Vaio hold enough RAM for Win-7? SomehowI feel not… as the specs. in the first link below suggest your cpu may be a little too slow…?

Stick with XP. As OtheHill states, you don't meet the minimum requirements with that machine. You may get it to load, but even with turning off all the bells and whistles, you'd likely be just frustrated with the performance...
