If this happens with any other programs then it is a windows issue or a hardware issue. System restore to repair system files, Memtest to test memory and right click on drive in Computer, select properties, select check disk.
If this is only in browsers you probably have an infection. Run Malwarebytes in safe mode (download to another computer and transfer with flash drive or CDr) to remove what your antivirus program missed.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Yes did system restore & so far firefox seems to work fine but IE8 I had to remove it & will re-install it tomorrow to see if it is improved or not, as for the virus I ran scan twice nothing came up. For Malwarebytes where do I find this exe? The browsers keep crashing again I just found after 24 hours later. They browse a little but the crash reports still shows. Thanks.

Download Memtest and burn the ISO image to CD and boot to that. Memtest will test your memory (RAM) since this is sounding more like a bad memory segment and let it run through all tests and see if it shows up any errors or freezes. If errors or freezing, remove one memory stick and test with one at a time to see if one works and the other does not, then replace the bad one.

Open 'Computer', right click on C drive, choose properties, click disk check and follow the prompts to test your hard drive for bad segments and try to repair them or bypass them.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
