Win 7 does not resume correctly after slee

February 6, 2011 at 05:00:30
Specs: Windows 7 Home premium, 4 GB Pentum 4
Every time I put my computer to sleep or hibernate and wake it up, the computer resumes to a screen stating "Windows failed to shut down correctly" A recent hardware or software change might be the cause and I'm asked to choose how to restart.Quite similar to the screen I would get after a crash.
Any insight on this issue?

Arturo

Is this a desktop or laptop. Hibernate or sleep modes shouldn't be used for a desktop.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes this is a desktop.
I have the comp in my bedroom and I prefer it to be silent.

If you're not going to use it for an extended period of time, shut it off. It won't hurt it to reboot it every day. Maybe not the answer you wanted to hear, but that would be my suggestion. I turn mine off every night and reboot in the morning.
