you may have a file called windows.old, that will be your vista files and programs, if your happy with win7 you can delete that, it may take a long time to delete, then you will have to do a disk cleanup.
you can also expand the partition that win 7 is installed in, click on my computer/manage/disk management right click on c; and choose expand drive

Hi thanks for that,
I have already done the windows.old delete and disk cleanup also resized the partition but nothing seems to change the used size of the hard disk it will ot go below 29.5gb, also turned off the restore points after resizing the amount of space that used!!
I'm a bit stumped!

have a look at this
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/e7/archive/...
also you can delete the language and drivers folders to free up some space, disable indexing and hibernation,
you dont need extra languages and if your divers are installed you shouldnt need the driver dbase..indexing and hibernation speak for them selfs, also stop using the drive for page files.

you may just be better advised into getting some extra space, if your running an ssd and have no room for an extra drive, then i would suggest investing in a 2.5inch external drive or a 32/64 gig usb stick.
