Hi Anyone know how to get activ synch on windows 7 for older PDA's. I have a Ipaq 2210 running windows pc2003 version, i can't download Windows mobile device centre, as it only takes the newer windows mobile software, i cant use activ synch 4.5 as it does not run on win 7 so am stuck with no synch software for my ipaq, any help with this muchly appreciated. Thanks

I also have an older IPAQ. So far there are no drivers or planned support for the older units in Win 7. It has to do with the version of WinCE on the system. The version in these systems is not supported for connection. This includes connecting for file XFR. You need Vista or XP to connect it. The only other choice at this time is to replace the unit with a newer PDA. I am back to using one of my other systems with XP to keep the data on mine current.

I haven't tried that, but my Win 7 does not recognize the device at all. The other problem is that activesync has been replaced by the Mobile Device Center. That is the app that fails to work with PocketPC 2002 and older. My Vista install was working with the IPAQ, but when I upgraded the new versions killed the links.

Thanks for the replies, what i thought i might do is buy a new hard disc & load win 7 & use as my main computer drive then on my old hard drive leave xp on it & when i need to update my pda swap the drives around, bit of a faff to do this every time but should work. Thanks

Hi All,

Problem:
Win 7 doesn't allow activesync to be installed

Solution(rather workaround):
Install win xp virtual mode.Install active sync.connect the mobile.don't forget to enable USB in the win xp mode
