Check BIOS to see if it shows up there. If it does not then manually check the connectors, if either the signal or power connectors are not on completely then simply reconnect or replace the wire/connector. If unplugging and replugging does not work and changing to new signal cable and a different power connector does not help then you may have a bad hard drive. You can try the hard drive on another computer as a second drive to see if it is recognized (if it does, make a back up of your files), if it works then your problem could be with your power supply, if it does not then you will need to replace the hard drive (I hope you have a back up of your files). If this computer is under warranty then contact the manufacturer for warranty replacement. If it is not under warranty the purchase a good hard drive (I recommend Western Digital) and contact the system manufacturer for a system recovery disk set to reinstall your operating system, drivers and included programs (usually reasonably priced). If this is a failed drive, I would be curious to know if this is a Seagate drive because I have seen a few of them fail over the years (personal curiosity only).

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
