have you tried running as administrator and then using compatibility mode? I have many old programs running on my windows 7 with no problems.

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

If you still have the disk from that original computer you MAY be able to install Works but I suggest you just buy a newer version. Look at the link below for a cheap solution with Works 8.5.

As far as MS Works 2000 working on Windows7. I can't say for sure but I am currently using MS Office 2000 on Windows 7 without any problems. usually older versions of Microsoft products will install OK but have no support if needed.

Keep in mind that in Window 7, Microsoft took out the Compatibility mode in
Home and Basic versions. You need to be running Windows 7 Pro or higher
to have the ability to use Compatibility mode!
