January 21, 2011 at 01:42:43
Specs: Windows 7, intel i5 and 4gigs of ram
i just bought a custom built computer and after 2 months of owning it it starts to run slowly it takes at least 20 min until the windows logo comes up and then another 15 min until the desktop shows up but then it takes 5 Min's for the programs to load. please i don't know why. and there was a pop up from Firefox notifying me that an skype extension was causing stability or security problems idk what that is supposed to do with anything.

type"msconfig"in the run box, go to startup and uncheck everything that isnt MS, check your startup speeds, then you start adding start up programs that you need, this is an easy way to check what is causing slow starts.adobe and java dont need to start, also check your AV scanner that its not running a full system scan at boot.
run malwarebytes and sophos rootkit.

you could if you wanted to be severe, save your files and do a full reinstall/factory restore just in case you have some root kits running or some other very nasty nasty that has not been found

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
