Solved Why doesn't the merriam webster audio work any longer?

December 19, 2014 at 06:01:05
Specs: Windows 7
I subscribe to Merriam Webster's Word-of-the-Day and frequently tap on their audio symbol to hear the pronunciation of the word. Recently it stopped working and I am prompted to use my system's default audio (which is going crazy as it repeats itself..problem #2!). How do I correct both problems? Thank you.

Thank you for your time, but I will have to pass on your request since I am completely in the dark about what you are asking for.

Device manager will show if your hardware is not setup right or missing drivers, which may be the cause of your problem. You can check there yourself:

Look for entries showing a yellow exclaimation point or question mark.

Thank you for the link. I should have thought of that myself. I will check it out as soon as I have some time. If I can make the audio work that would be great. However, I still have the problem of my default repeating itself over and over and over......that doesn't seem right. Any way to correct that as well? Thank you for your time.

That's an odd one. Check device manager and you may want to try upgrading the audio drivers even if no problem is showing with them.
