Please do not confuse "Internet Explorer" with "Windows Explorer" they are not the same thing. Internet Explorer is your browser for the internet. Windows Explorer is for files and folders within your computer.

1- In Internet Explorer: Go to Tools (or 'Cog Wheel')>Manage Add Ons and remove or disable any you have not deliberately put there and want to keep.
2- In Internet Explorer: Go to Tools (or Cog) >Internet Options>Delete(under Browsing History), Select nearly everything>Delete>OK
3- In Computer: Right click on hard drive>Properties>Disk Clean Up, select everything >OK>OK
4- Restart the computer but tap F8 repeatedly while restarting. When the boot options open up, select Safe Mode with Networking. When it is ready (large icons are only in safe mode, later they will be normal again) Download, install and update Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/
Run Malwarebytes and remove all it finds. Then update and run your antivirus program, remove all it finds. Restart in Normal Mode.

Report results.

Are you typing it in the address bar, or are you typing it into the Google search box in the browser window?
Is Google set as your default search site within Internet Explorer? (It is not by default, Bing is.
Check your security settings and pop up settings. If the security settings are too high or the pop up settings are too restrictive, then you may not get the drop down choices but the search should work when you click on it. Security settings should be Medium to Medium High by default.

I am typing in the google box
my default site is google
my secuity settings are set at medium-high (default)

I am adding the fact that the search worked normally
(suggestions appeared and search button worked)
however when I authorised windows-installer, I was back to square 1

Firefox has no such problems

You can try resetting Internet Explorer, this resets it to default factory settings and in theory should erase any problems. I do not know if this preserves Favorites or not, but you amt be able to export them to a file and import them again after. To try this you go to Tools>Internet Options>Advanced Tab>Reset. Certainly worth a try. To save your Favorites, File>Import/Export.
