Another possibility is the monitors own on screen display settings. There are often buttons under the bottom screen edge which can include power saving.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Are you referring to a Desktop Monitor or are you talking about the monitor on a laptop and therefore the laptop itself is having the problem?
How much time are you talking about before it shuts down?
Is the time always about the same?
Does it happen quicker when it is already warm?
Is this happening when the system it at idle or while you are using the machine?

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

But did you touch the mouse and /or keyboard during those 5minutes, or does it not turn off at all when you keep browsing the internet?

The responses given in #1 and #2 were intended to prevent this happening. Did you look at those settings?

Is it a new PC?
are you able to get into windows before it shuts off?(some old systems take like 10min :D)
does it turn back on if you do not touch for another 5min?(if so probably it's probably memory-training or a boot loop)
