Hi,

Do you have access to a monitor you could connect the VGA connector on the laptop to? If you get video out it may be the video controller may be failing although that should be rare in my experience. Let know the results...

If you never ever see anything at all on the screen it is a hardware issue.
Checking with an external monitor (already given) is a good idea.

Hardware faults include:
1. Poor connections at either end of the cable between the laptop motherboard and the screen.
2. Above cable giving trouble where it flexes at the hinge.
3. Screen itself.
4. Display module on motherboard.

There are other possibilities but the above were given in the probable most likely order.

If you even see "something" on the screen then that is a different matter - so let us know.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

The idea was that if an external monitor worked it would prove that the problem was not with your screen or its connections - something further in.

As for my second suggestion, as often as not when a cable is defective at the hinge, if you run the computer then gently tilt the screen back and forth it will momentarily work. It could still be a connection either end but at least it gives a clue that a connection is the culprit.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
