Most likely something in the screen went bad.

Possibly something in the video circuitry went bad.

Either of those problems would be covered by warrantee.
If the warrantee has expired you can take it to most any
computer repair shop for an estimate of what it will cost
to fix.

First, though -- There is a small chance it is just a loose
connection or a broken wire in the cable that goes through
the hinge to the screen. You can open the case and push
in any loose connector, and look for a possible broken wire
in the video cable. Unfortunately, it could be broken without
the break being visible. In which case you will probably
want to take it to a shop. Or you could get a replacement
cable, replace it yourself, and see if that fixes the problem.
