What Windows 7 programs use hyperthreading?

July 10, 2011 at 07:34:45
Specs: Windows 7 64bit, i7-2600k, 8Gig
What is the advantage to enabling hyper threading?
Can Windows 7-64 bit apply that feature running multiple apps?
Or is its use application specific?

If this resource isn't usable, I will disable it because it is inefficient and generates unwanted heat.

Unless someone has a better suggestion . . .

this function enables the processor to process multiple tasks at the same time - it happens by creating virtual processors. Windows 7 is HTT enabled. if you disable this function you're disabling the multi-core functionality. This feature is controlled by the OS so it's not app specific.
