You may have to contact Acer here: http://support.acer.com/us/en/defau... Is this the disk you created that has failed?

Remove the disk and restart. This may help.

Why are you running a recovery in the 1st place? If you have a hardware problem, it obviously can't be fixed by reinstalling the OS, nor will the OS reinstall correctly.

I would be running a hard disk diagnostic to make sure it was solid to install on. If it isn't it won't matter how many time you attempt recovery. Find the make of the hard drive, go to the maker's website and download their diagnostic software to make a bootable cd. Make the cd, then boot to it on startup and do a short and long test of the hard drive. Some bios systems do have a hard disk diagnostic as well, but I would be testing the hard drive.
