What is Triple buffer in Windows 7 graphics control panel?

What's triple buffer? I see it in graphics control panel all the time but i don't know what it is.

Buffer is a term to mean processing information and then presenting it. Perfect example is if you go to YouTube and your connection is a little slower, you'll see that circular icon when the video freezes, that means the video is buffering.. its downloading more data, the computer will process it then display it to you.

Graphics cards work the exact same way, it can multi-buffer a game or video so you can see/work with it clearer. I do not however recommend triple buffer in a computer that can't breathe, that's a good way to burn something up.
