Specs: Windows 7 Pro, /16GB
I have a custom built computer with Windows 7 Pro. The technician apparently forgot to install a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Should I have Internet Explorer 10 or an earlier version?

You don't have to use IE at all, which is probably why the tech didn't install it. Has he given you another browser - Chrome, Firefox or whatever?

The one that comes with Win7 as a default is IE9,but it's totally up to you whether you want to use that, IE10 or the alternatives.

Where is the world are you located? In some part of the world NO version is installed when installing Windows 7. As noted above, IE9 is the default version but IE10 should run fine. You should be running SP1 for Windows 7.

I personally don't use IE, although it is installed. I prefer to use Mozilla Firefox. You can have more than one browser installed.

I wouldn't recommend Chrome.

Windows 7 was released in 2009 and had as it default browser IE8.
IE9 didn't come out until 2011.
Just for clarification of correct information on what was in Windows 7.

IE10 beta for Win7 is not ready for prime time. I would stick with 9 at this point.
