Solved What does HNVQR is compressed mean?

Specs: Windows 7
After compressing my HDD, I restart and receive the error message "HNVQR is compressed", and the system cannot boot.

Why did you compress? It only makes the computer run slower. Better to erase not needed applications.

I'm not sure that's a given. It's a complex mix of CPU speed vs disk speed and also depends upon the type of file access. In most simplistic terms, compression slows down disk access because of CPU overhead, but speeds it up because it requires less reads from disk. With a modern processor, and average disks, I would expect an increase in speed; but you would need to benchtest individual applications to be sure.

It is no coincidence that compression is built in to modern files systems such as ZFS; it's not all about space saving.

In fact, my system is a multiboot one (Win7, WinVista, WinXP, and Ubuntu), so the problem was more sophisticated. However, the mentioned answer is a good starting point for dealing with it. The problem is solved.
