Your information is a little confusing. If it is a USB3.0 external hard drive then it would be backwards compatible with USB2.0:

If this is a SATA internal drive and you plan to use it as an external hard drive then you need to purchase a compatible case for it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

USB 3.0 has yet to work out the bugs. External drives are finicky. They will work on one computer and not another.

Personally I would stay away from them for now at least.

If you used a desktop computer you wouldn't NEED an external USB 3.0 hard drive. You could either use an eSATA or another internal drive.

Netbooks have their place but IMO it isn't to be a primary computer.

Thank you for your help. >>>Yes it is a Hytec USB3.0 IDE/SATA case and I put a WD 1TB internal IDE/SATA, in to the Hytec case. Would that work?
