web page does not open in the size I want.

Specs: Windows 7
I have a new 23" monitor. When I go on the internet, the first screen to pop up displays wider and shorter than I want. I always have to resize it manually. I don't want to fill my entire monitor. Can I do something to set it to open the size I want?

Do you mean the web browser itself opens in dimensions different than you want, or a web page you're viewing?

If you're talking about the browser itself, right-click the shortcut you use to open it, and go to Properties. On the Shortcut tab, next to Run, change it from Maximized window to Normal window. Then modify the dimensions of the web browser the way you want. Next time you open it via that shortcut, it should open to the proper size.

Thanks so much for your reply. I am not a computer geek by any means so I'm not sure what the difference between the web browser opening up and a web page opening up. To me they seem like the same thing. Anyway, I right clicked on the Internet Explorer icon on my task bar. Went to "properties" then "run". That setting was already set to normal. I have experimented with opening up a web page, resizing it, then "x-ing" out. For some reason that has worked for the time being. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

If you open your browser and it opens in the Maximized size, click the box with the double 'window' picture next to the 'X' that closes it, then resize it to what you like (ONE browser window open ONLY), change sites at least once and then close it. The next time you open it, it will use this size as default.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
