Solved want to upgrade RAM

Specs: Windows 7
I have an old desk top Emachines ET1331G-05W SNID 01309-126227.It has 4GB memory upgradable to 8GB. What type of memory does it carry and where do I buy it ?

Check out the Crucial Memory advisor, It will tell you all you need to know about memory you need. You don't have to buy from crucial but it will tell you exactly what you need.

Be aware the if you are ruining the 32 bit version of Windows 7 any memory over 4 Gbs will not be used.

Your system has a relatively weak CPU & outdated onboard graphics. If you haven't upgraded to a PCIe graphics card, that should be your 1st move, just make sure to get one that won't overload the 300W PSU.

If the limiting factor is the CPU then more RAM will not help.

Task Manager will give you a good idea about bottlenecks. In particular check to see how much RAM is being used.
